A Little Change

I decided to re-route the overall concept of dyahsynta.com to a whole new direction for the sake of being able to operate it with a little less obligated feeling. I'm taking baby steps into making it a huge part of my life.

And now it has the comment feature! But you can save your mean words to yourself, of course. I can't handle those sort of things.

Go visit! :)

These are... Real

Ahh.

I have never been so nervous and excited as I am right now. Well, maybe I had, but it was so long ago that I had forgotten how it felt like.

But since the rest of the story is still rather a mystery even for myself, let's just focus on other things.

These last couple of weeks had taken me on a time machine of some sort. For most of you, this band might be as insignificant as the ants in your little drawer. It most probably be just another band from Bandung, the city that seems to produce like five or fifteen new bands each day. But for me, though, it was a sweet piece of the past. My past.

There were those days when my weekends were fully booked by stages in various sizes and varying crowds. Practically, there were days when my weekends were spent with no one else but the members of that particular band. There were days when we were so awfully close to each other.

So these last couple of weeks, hearing the news that some of them were entering their own new phases... they kinda brought me in a nostalgic mood :')
Ranti - myself - Kak Pepi, this was taken few minutes before we hopped on the stage at ITB
This one was from a gig at E-Plex, PVJ Mall. Even that place is no longer exist now :))
Cannot believe how time had passed. Kak Pepi was still going backstreet with her then-boyfriend whom she has been married to since last year, and now she is a lovely mother of their beautiful daughter. Ranti was still busy giving too many 'chances' to a little too many guys back then, and now she has sworn herself to be devoted to one man as a wife, for a lifetime.

I am, of course, wishing them to have their life-long happiness and blessed days ahead. I know how hard their lives must be, starting from the day after the huge changes, but we had been through hard times together before and I just happened to know how strong these women are. So, I know they would be alright, if not even happier. And I know they'll be able to shed bright lights into their new families, just like how they did with ours back then.

I love the two of you :*

Those Thoughts I Had Belittled Before

The weather has been a little too unpredictable this past week. I woke up this morning getting the chill creeping up the back of my neck, even my cup of coffee couldn't tame them down. It has always been a nice weather to write, this kind of gloom. Nice timing to pour down some thoughts.

I honestly cannot tell how much life has surprised me. How I had been close to some people and then for some glitchy misunderstanding chosen to take some steps off them only to find myself getting back around them nowadays. I keep asking myself if those are what my life would keep revolving around. Meet-separate-reunite. If so, then I should better be preparing myself for loads of silent anger wrapped in 'goodbyes' followed by beaten pride when exchanging 'Where the hell have YOU been? OMG I miss you like a lot lot lot lot!'

Or maybe I should just avoid to have unnecessary 'goodbyes' at the first place. You know, to keep everything simpler.

Anyway,

I attended Ganesha Music Event 2013 last Saturday. It was rather unpleasing, honestly speaking, but it was nice enough for me to be able to meet some friendly faces in a friendly atmosphere. An atmosphere that reminded me of how much I felt so cozy and so spoiled once.

Ah, isn't it funny, destiny?

Anyway, this absolutely feels like a birthday gift coming too early:

I Still Feel You And The Taste of Cigarettes

So...

I went watching Bloc Party's Live last night. With my favorite gang of people. They kinda broke my heart a little for not playing my favorite songs, but I went home feeling even more certain that their way of writing love songs is my absolute favorite.

Nothing's overstated, with story-telling style of choosing words and creating actual paragraphs instead of too-meaningful lines of sentences. Simple, honest, and blatantly speaking & sharing. And then of course they top it with catchy tunes that could easily get stuck in everyone's head.

Yes, they made my sweetest moment of 2013 so far.

It's A Game Boy, I Don't Wanna Play

My current on-heavy-repeat song.

Everything that Lana sings here sounds like anything I want to hear/tell right now. Though I've got to admit the 'Sid & Nancy' part was a little tacky.

There are so many lovely things happened today, I think a smile will carve itself ear-to-ear for me tonight :)

Edison's Workshop, She Said

So, one day I was with Ipit and Dessy, having beer and chit-chatting after our long day at work (I was still an employee then) when Ipit mentioned that she needed a steam punk-themed illustration for her on going interior project. Forgot how it actually went, but at the end I agreed to do the illustration.

Unfortunately things didn't go as planned, so this work is left unused. It was supposed to turn into a wallpaper of some sort.

Old Pieces

I was surfing the web randomly when I accidentally recalled a web address to where I used to participate by submitting my doodles randomly. Apparently, and unfortunately, the web is no longer being updated. My heart broke a little when I figured this out.

But anyway, these are my formerly mentioned doodles that I submitted:

Theme: Superhero
Title: False

Theme: Stripes
Title: Being

Theme: Dancing
Title: "As Long As The Ribbons are Around, I'll Dance"
Ah, those good old days :) Oh, anyway it's The Dancing Animal. I hope it'll be resurrected some time later.

Exactly

I have never been in this point in life. So as much as I am SOVERYGODDAMNED EXCITED, I also REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY DON'T wanna jinx this. So I'll leave you all with no details.

Today's our 1st anniversary, by the way. I'm such a lucky girl :D

But You Don't Really Seem Like You Wanna Try

Last week was... I don't even know what to call it. For a start, there was one whole night spent at a printing center, got to get a job done. No sleep, but thankfully not alone. Had to skip another two days of work because of course my blood pressure went down after it.

Then I had a huge fight with him. Most probably the ugliest fight we had ever been into. Took almost two days to set everything straight again. But unbelievably, even in that terrible situation I still find a way to feel thankful about having him :')

Then came the weekend.

I went to collect my Mandiri Run for Our Nation race pack on Saturday. Apparently, the race pack collection was held inside a fair that Bank Mandiri threw to celebrate its 14th anniversary. And between the many booths where I thought I would bump into no one familiar (which was the only logical reason of why I dressed up so recklessly), I met Agam and Giffa. Both had their own booths for their brands... Which made me so green with envy :(

But anyway, it was ssssupernice to meet them :D

Then I went self-pampering. Got my bangs cut, a little postponed underarms treatment, and a tiny shopping :p

Then came Sunday, the day of the race.

You see, with the level of intensity (or should I say... insanity?) I had been having at work and personally, it was only logical if I mention that I had not been able to train.. At all.. for this race. I had been skipping morning runs because I could not get my ass up from bed that easy when I hit the bed late at night.

My run for the race was below pathetic for me. I could not remember being in my own pace, so at the beginning I got 'drowned' into a sea of people who ran too eagerly. Common mistake at running, of course :| So I was running out of breath much too soon, and for the rest of the race I was busy promising myself that I would not abandon morning jogs ever again.

But anyway I met friendly faces too, there, on the race :D

My Lovely Giffa :)
Met Rino and Risyad at the race
And Sofi, too

Inspired Self

You never knew when you would be inspired by who. As for me, I'm actually a little hard to be inspired by people, because I'm much easier to get annoyed by little details (and human beings are full of annoying little details, yeah?). So the people I'm about to put on this little list here, are truthfully, amazing:

  1. My ECD (who I won't mention the name), who had inspired me since the first moment we met (around a month ago) and never failed to repeatedly keep doing so. He was like, so good at producing brilliant ideas. The most inspiring thing about him that's gotten revealed this week (among many others) was: he collects paintings.
  2. Mr. Eugene Panji, a director who I met through an office's project. He's undoubtedly an experienced and well-known director so of course he's good at everything related to that field. But the most inspiring quote I recorded at the offline editing session wasn't related to his work in any ways. It was this: "Kecerdasan gue adalah gue bisa bikin orang bilang gue cerdas." Or something like that. (I'm not really sure how to say that in English. But maybe it was something like.. "My smartness lies only in my ability to make other people think that I am.")
  3. Adhityani Putri. This one I did not actually meet in person but rather (of course) through her blog. Her determined and rather obsessive attitude towards one subject that's currently dominating my mind nowadays is mind-blowing. And the subject is? Well, what else?
  4. A 4th grade female kid who's also a proud 'atlit bulutangkis usia dini' (who I forgot to ask the name for she was jaw-dropping me all the way home from the office). She was with her mom, took the angkot which I was in, and she was bringing her racket (later I knew she had to repair it for she did not just use it on training, she was abusing it). At the first glance I had noticed her difference among other kids I usually bumped into, she had this... glow... which I can't really describe. She always looked so friendly, so I smiled at her and her mom, spontaneously, and thus, began our conversation. She was so proud of her training, and her mom was telling me eagerly about all the tournaments she battled in, even how she inherited her athlete-ness from her father (who was a tennis athlete).
:)

Life is incredible.

Not Seventeen

I officially turned 24 yesterday!

Now, looking back at the life I've lived for 24 years generally, I can only say that I regret nothing. Sure, there were more than few things that made me frowned or even cried. There were falls and getting-back-ups. And yeah, that was what actually counts for me: the getting-back-ups.

I had a birthday date with him yesterday, we watched The Dark Knight Rises, which brought me into wanting to be reminded of the prequels. So I searched and downloaded them after having sahur this early morning. And here's the thing, maybe you also had forgotten this line (I had), but it was quite adequate with me trying to give a clearer example for what I was talking about:
"Why do we fall, Sir? So that we might learn to pick ourselves up." - Alfred Pennyworth
So yeah,
I have turned 24, I have tasted the bitter and the sweet, I have also chosen to be one and I have also tried to become another. I will experience more of them, of course, because I will stay living my my life alive, and that means not stopping myself from experiencing things. And it's not that I want to sound cocky, but all the things that had happened made me do believe in pay-off. There's always a price to pay, and there's always a gain for every pain.

So no, I'm not scared. Well, my knees are, of course, a little shaking, but I can't tell if it was for feeling excited or terrified. There will be more to my life, I believe. It could be challenging or lighter, but they will not bring me anywhere but somewhere better. Somewhere I deserve.

Why do I sound a lot too optimistic?

Anyway,

As I mentioned before, yesterday I had a birthday date and of course he brought me birthday gifts :D They were cook books and figures of my favorite cartoon characters, but my favorite one was the one he sent to my e-mail earlier on the midnight. I'm still repeating it until now. I still can't believe someone actually made something like that for me, because it never happened before.

Clue?

:3

So now...

I am 24. You will not hear/read this coming out from me often, because I keep mistaking my actual age all the time. I stay 21 in my sane mind. Seriously.

Swing My Weight Around, Begin the Windstorm

So, yeah.

After I had one week off from work, my work kinda sucked me up a bit, though not as ugly as how it could actually be. But, anyway, I'm glad enough that I could still catch up. Although some other things also came into my mind, which I can not explain because it would tear my fingers from typing (for it needs a long long long looooong explanation, that's why).

It was not a spontaneous decision I made out of nowhere, that's one thing to be sure about.

And today, after finally being able to move on from what happened last weekend, I created a playlist to accompany me throughout the office hour. With an indirect help from him, because I was having an intese conversation with him on YM when I compiled this. I have been using YouTube's playlist feature for a little while (few months). It's much more handy for listening to new recommended bands/songs. This is my second playlist that I made public after a playlist that consists of HBO's Girls' soundtrack. There are only five songs included, 17-ish minutes long, and I am in the mood for sharing it, so I'm going to embed it here:

Enjoy! :)

And please wish me luck for surviving this lifetime decision :D

I Make the Same Mistakes

So, first day of bed resting at home.

I woke up a little earlier because I sensed my stomach feeling a bit uneasy. Had my cup of coffee in hope that it would be able to smooth everything out (but turned out, it couldn't), found out that the period had come, and then decided to curl back under the blanket until he wake-up-called me.

Then I had my breakfast, which was a slice of whole wheat bread plus a scrambled egg and a chocolate low-fat milk. After having them finished with my set of medication pills, I started watching "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" alone for few first episodes, but then my brother joined me for the rest of it (and he actually liked the serie. Haha!). I looooooooved that serie! It was hilarious and kinky.

Then I had lunch with Magnum Classic as the dessert. I normally don't finish my lunches with ice creams but the doctor said that I should consume as much protein as I possibly could to speed up the recovering post-surgery scar and that includes egg whites and ice creams, so....

Anyway,
I took a nap after lunch and then he wake-up-called me again. After chit-chatting for a while, I decided to continue watching another serie, "Girls". I actually had finished downloading 9 episodes of it since about some weeks ago, but never really had the chance to watch them. Which I'm feeling glad about, because I think it's not the kind of serie you would love to watch with some days gap between each episodes. You know, it's the kind of serie that makes you get sunk inside its world while you're watching it, and therefore you would prefer to stay there as long as you could instead of jumping in-and-out every now and then.

But that's just me, anyway.
Oh, and the soundtrack was lovely, I'm telling you.

Oh, I think my gastric acid is kinda intolerant with the prescribed antibiotic, so either I should ask the doctor to swap it with something lighter or I should compromise by consuming Omeprazole before/after taking that pills. I'm taking the second option for now because I'm too lazy to go to the pharmacy or drug stores or even ask any doctors.

Are there any doctors reading this? You know, I could use your help :)

Last Weekend

Went for a quick jump to Bandung on Friday night. Watching him on stage at Bumi Sangkuriang then munching a bucket of KFC's crispy chicken wings while watching Community (silly TV serie). A wedding on Sunday noon, a quick much-needed nap, Japanese dinner later that night.

First!

Alright, let's crack this egg up.
Hello everyone, I am back :D
I won't be able to satisfy any curiosity about either why I'm back to blogging or why I left it in the first place, if there's any. But anyway...
Since this is an introductory post, I will reveal things about me. And I believe, between so many options, one I consider to be an effective way to tell anything about anyone is to:

Undress their bags!
(No, nobody ever mentioned this theory before, don't bother Googling it. I was just dying to make this kind of post :p)

So yeah, my bag!
It's a cheap deal done on an online shop (which I forgot the name), costed me around 150,000 IDR. Ummm... Yeah, I think this is the cheapest bag/purse I have ever bought. And now I am currently bringing this anywhere. Well, to the office, mostly, of course.

Inside! Inside!
These are the things I carry whenever I leave the house (except when it was a quick run to the mini market or ATM or biking, oh well, you get the point). Generally, they are divided into 4 groups:
  1. Make up pouch (a freebie from Emirates airline. My dad gave it) consists of:
    • - The Body Shop creme blush on
    • - Revlon liquid and pencil eyeliner
    • - Viva eyebrow pencil
    • - Maybelline mascara
    • - A small mirror which came with the pouch
    • - Acnes compact powder
    • - Acnes blotting paper
    • - Sebamed pimple gel
    • - Carex hand sanitizer
    • - Glasses lenses cleaner spray (I forgot and can no longer read the brand name)
    • - A folded mirror, a gift from an office mate, souvenir from Turkey
    • - Mefinal, a painkiller (I'm on my period)
    • - Freshcare Minyak Angin Aromatherapy
    • - Nivea lip care
    • - Maybelline tinted lipbalm
    • - Maybelline lipstick
  2. Electronic-related pouch, the one with colorful dots on it (it's Roxy-JBL, got it by purchasing the earphone). To keep those cables from tangling each other and getting black-ish stains. You know how it goes when it comes to Apple products
    • - Apple USB cord for recharging my phone at the office or in the car
    • - Apple earphones, with mic (What's the exact name for this?). I know they don't produce great quality sound but that's exactly why I choose to use this when I'm not home. So I wouldn't be completely isolated from my surroundings.
    • - SanDisk 16GB USB flashdisk. I'm so proud of owning this, I don't know why :))
  3. Misc. pouch for my most essentials to-go stuff. This is the pouch I bring to lunch.
    • - Cigarette (& lighter, when presence)
    • - Cellphones, iPhone in a heavily scratched Typo case & Samsung CDMA
    • - Mints. I always need mints.
    • - iBattz pen & mechanical sketching pencil
    • - Keys
  4. Scattered things all-around
    • - A June 2012-June 2013 agenda, a useful wedding souvenir from Tadya & Giva. I love it because it's light :D
    • - Wetz green tea wet tissue
    • - A maroon A5 leather binder book, for sketching, taking notes, doodling, swearing, keeping business cards on meetings, etc.
    • - An umbrella, with a massive illustration of a sumo player. It takes 'random' to a totally whole new level.
    • - A Cath Kidston card keeper to keep my own name cards and some other rarely-used-but-might-be-useful-sometimes cards.
    • - A Kate Spade wallet I bought as a self-reward for exceeding my saving target :D
    • - Another souvenir from Turkey, a pocket to keep business-related people's name cards.
I'm going to tag peooople!
These are my fellow bloggers who I'd known through blogwalking back then when I was still writing this and friends I know in real life who own blogs and still writing them. I salute all of your consistency!:D Here they are:
DianiAyuPutyFarinRaraMiaDevi, and Redo (and I actually want to tag Wina, Deeta, and Nyta too, but I don't know where you guys actually blog nowadays). And anyone who's reading this!

Do this, please. It's fun.
Or at least do this to keep my fire up for blogging once again :D
